Xiaomi unveils the new HyperOS smartwatch, the Redmi Watch 4, which has a large AMOLED display, a metal housing, and GPS

After the Watch S3's release last month, Xiaomi has released the Redmi Watch 4. The Redmi Watch 4, which is centered around a nearly 2-inch AMOLED display, also includes a sizable battery and integrated GNSS location services, among other features.

Pre-orders for Xiaomi's Redmi Watch 4, a smartwatch that it unveiled earlier today in China, are now open. The device's worldwide release has not yet been alluded to by the company, as anticipated. However, as with the new Redmi K70 series, the company is probably going to offer the new smartwatch somewhere else at some point.

The Redmi Watch 4 sports an AMOLED display that is 1.97 inches in diameter and produces 450 x 390 pixels, according to Xiaomi. In addition, the display has a flat glass cover and can produce up to 600 nits of brightness. Additionally, Xiaomi houses the large screen in a middle frame made of aluminum alloy that is waterproof to 5 ATM and features a stainless steel crown.

In addition, the 47 mm smartwatch incorporates a quick-release watch band mechanism, akin to that of the Pixel or Apple Watch series. Regretfully, this implies that using traditional smartwatch straps with the Redmi Watch 4 is officially prohibited. Additionally, Xiaomi has included a 470 mAh battery that, when the smartwatch's GNSS services are not enabled, is rated for up to 20 days of use between charges.

The Redmi Watch 4 from Xiaomi comes with over 150 sports modes, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and sensors to monitor important health indicators. Similar to the Watch S3, Xiaomi's proprietary operating system, HyperOS, comes pre-installed on the Redmi K70 and Xiaomi 14 series. In China, the Redmi Watch 4 is priced at CNY 499, or roughly US$70, which is CNY 300 less than the Watch S3.
