With additional bug fixes, Garmin releases a stable update for the Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Pro, and Epix 2 smartwatch families

  • 22-December-2023

The third stable update for the smartwatches released in December, v15.77, has been released by Garmin for the Fenix 7, Epix 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and Marq 2 series. All models, including the recently released titanium Marq 2 model from Garmin, are now bug-fixed thanks to the latest update, which completely bypasses the Public Beta program.

Moments after the company unveiled a new titanium edition of the Marq 2, Garmin published an update for its Epix 2, Enduro 2, Fenix 7, Quatix 7, and Marq 2 smartwatches. The latest update, for whatever reason, has bypassed Garmin's Public Beta program. The new update, v15.77, is released by the company via their forum post. It is a follow-up to v15.76, which was released by Garmin using the same methodology.

In any case, v15.77 is the third stable release that Garmin has released for this month for the Marq 2, Fenix 7, Enduro 2, Epix 2, and Quatix 7 series. Not surprisingly, the update is largely unchanged from versions 15.76 and 15.74 that came before it. In this instance, a bug that might result in a map page crash when specific maps are used should be fixed by the latest build. Note that Garmin has not provided an explanation of what these "certain maps" are.

Garmin further states that version 15.77 fixes a bug that stopped ski and snowboard distances from appearing in the 'All Stats' section for those activities. Members of the Public Beta, however, can still request v15.77 without having to quit the app. As per normal, you can manually initiate the update by navigating to Menu, System, Software Update, and selecting 'Check for Updates'. It should be noted that although Garmin mentions a target rollout percentage in this forum post, it has not yet confirmed the exact percentage.
