The TicWatch brand's parent company, Mobvoi, has been lagging behind in updating its wristwatches to Wear OS 3. Mobvoi announced earlier this week that the Wear OS 3 update is compatible with a number of TicWatch models; however, no specific release date has been specified.
The Wear OS 3 update for the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS, TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra, TicWatch Pro 3 GPS, TicWatch Pro 3 LTE, and TicWatch E3 smartwatches that are older is about to be released.
Your smartwatch needs to be running one of the following software builds, according to Mobvoi, in order to upgrade to Wear OS 3: These are PMRB.220703.001, PMKB.211102.004, PMKB.211102.002, and PMRL.220704.001.
Before upgrading to Wear OS 3, Android users should also confirm that they have the most recent version of the Mobvoi Health app. Chances are that your phone won't support the app if you're having compatibility problems.
You should also be aware that the update will cause your watch to go into factory reset mode, which will erase all data and non-Tic third-party apps.
All TicHealth, TicSleep, and TicExercise data, however, will continue to be safely saved and synchronized with the new companion app. After the update, Mobvoi promises that the sync process will be finished in a week.
Furthermore, after updating to Wear OS 3, some apps, like TicHearing and Mobvoi Voicememo, will no longer be available.
More significantly, Google Maps and Google Wallet will no longer function for iOS users after the update, and Google Assistant will also no longer be available.
