WatchOS 10.2 brings a Siri update for the most recent Apple Watches

  • 12-December-2023

Despite the iPhone lock-in, the Apple Watch Series 9 is still the best smartwatch on the market. WatchOS 10, which offers extensive health tracking features and other smarts that make it a worthwhile purchase, is part of what makes the Apple Watch so good. A few updates to watchOS 10.2 are being rolled out by Apple to watches that are compatible.

Now, Siri has access to and logs health data.

The main feature of this update is that you can now use Siri to access and log health data on the new Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. According to CNET, these two smartwatches are the only ones with this feature because they run on the new Apple S9 chip, which enables them to handle some Siri requests locally and quickly rather than transferring them to the cloud.

According to reports, Siri on the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will initially be able to respond to queries for 20 different categories of health data. Inquiries concerning Activity Ring progress, steps taken, respiratory rate at night, stairs climbed, sleep from the previous night, and other topics are included in this. This week's data will serve as the basis for these responses. Inquiries concerning third-party health gadgets, like some blood pressure and glucose monitors, that link to the iPhone's Health app are reportedly handled by Siri as well. Information about weight, periods, and medications can also be recorded by users.

According to 9to5Mac, Siri Health requests can be made in Mandarin Chinese (Mainland China) and English (United States). Although no timeframe has been disclosed, more languages are anticipated.

Additional watchOS 10.2 modifications

Swiping to switch watch faces is a significant feature that is coming back in watchOS 10.2. Although watchOS 10 eliminated the feature, users could still accomplish that. Go to Settings > Clock > Swipe to Switch Watch Face on your Watch to access the feature, which is back in an optional avatar.

You can now choose to receive a confirmation when your workout is about to end. Navigate to the Watch app > My Watch > Workout > End Workout Confirmation on your connected iPhone.
