It looks that Skoda Auto India intends to launch up to six new passenger cars in the Indian market during the course of the next 12 to 18 months, with a heavily localized small SUV serving as the standout model. A list of every anticipated model can be seen here:
Adopting the sub-four-meter segment, this small SUV will be based on the same MQB A0 IN platform as the Slavia and Kushaq, guaranteeing a competitive pricing approach. Expect a 1.0L three-pot turbocharged petrol engine with two gearbox options—manual and automatic—that can provide up to 115 PS and 175 Nm of maximum power.
The new model, which is scheduled to launch in March 2025, will go by one of five unique names: Kwiq, Kariq, Kyroq, Kymaq, or Kylaq. Having previously undergone several tests, this five-seater is poised to take on strong competitors such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3X0, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
The much awaited arrival of the redesigned Skoda Kushaq and Slavia is expected to happen in 2019. A 360-degree video system and Level 2 ADAS technology are expected to be among the new features included in these updated versions. Updates are also planned for the appearance and interior with the goal of extending the attractiveness of the current generation of these cars.
There is conjecture that the new generation Kodiaq may arrive on our shores in the upcoming year, albeit this has not been formally confirmed yet. It will get major exterior and interior improvements, but the well-known 2.0L turbo petrol engine will continue to do its responsibilities. The vehicle is built on the redesigned MQB Evo platform.
Superb's predecessor returned to India a few months ago through the CBU method, albeit the fourth generation model is still a ways off. The precise release date for the Octavia is still unknown, while industry predictions indicate a 2025 release.
