The Google Phone app might be redesigned to look like an iPhone

The default dialer app on almost all popular Android phones, including Xiaomi and OnePlus models, is Google Phone. Samsung is the lone exception, continuing to use its proprietary app. Google has added features like call recording, more intelligent spam prevention, audio emoji, and a more streamlined appearance to its dialer app over time. The Phone app's new incoming call screen user interface, which seems to be modeled after the iPhone, is currently undergoing testing by the business.

As things stand, you swipe up the phone icon in the Google Phone app to accept a call and swipe down to reject one. In contrast, Samsung and iPhone models display two buttons on the screen when a call is incoming. To answer a call, tap the green one; to reject one, tap the red one.

Google tested a new incoming call screen in the most recent Phone app (v145.0.672690850) release using a similar methodology, according to a tip received by the people at Android Authority.

The screenshots make it clear that the Google Phone app may soon include separate accept and reject buttons on the screen when a call comes in. The accept button is positioned on the right for convenience, and the decline/reject button is positioned on the left. This arrangement resembles that of the iPhone.

The green accept button on a Samsung phone is located on the left, and the decline button is located on the right.

It looks that Google is using a server-side switch to test this new incoming call screen style. Therefore, even after updating the Google Phone app on your phone, you might not be able to see it.

Instead of swiping up/down, dedicated call accept and refuse buttons are preferable.

With their new Android phone, novice users should have no trouble accepting or rejecting calls thanks to the dedicated red and green buttons. Honestly, there have been times when I've had to take a few seconds to grasp that, on the Google Phone's incoming call screen, I need to swipe down to decline a call—especially after switching from an iPhone or Samsung.

In addition to redesigning the incoming call screen, Google ought also think about displaying a larger display picture of the contact for improved visibility.
