The AI tool in Google Chrome allows you to instantly assess a website's credibility

  • 02-December-2024

An planned feature in Google Chrome will utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to summarize reviews of the business or website you are currently on from other websites.

Leo observed on X that Google Chrome is launching a brand-new AI-powered function dubbed "Store reviews."

This tool offers a concise synopsis of evaluations from reliable independent review sites such as ScamAdvisor, Trust Pilot, and others.

When you click on the "i" or lock icon in the address bar (next to the website URL), the "page info bubble," which displays the summary, is displayed.

For instance, when you click on the lock icon on a website like "x.com," an information panel including several site facts appears.

There is a section on this panel called "Store reviews." A quick AI-generated synopsis of the website's reputation based on evaluations from various sources will appear if you click it.

Without having to visit several review websites, this might assist you in rapidly determining the site's legitimacy and dependability.

Chrome will also get more AI tools in addition to its AI-powered website/store evaluations feature.

Chrome's improved security will also leverage AI to offer real-time protection against risky websites, downloads, and extensions, as BleepingComputer recently reported.

Previously known as proactive protection, the term "AI-powered protection" has since been used.
