Speedometer For iOS Users Is Being Rolled Out By Google Maps

Since its release on iPhones, Google Maps has received a significant upgrade.

The speedometer has been a feature of Google Maps for Android users for more than five years, but it is now finally making its way to iOS users.

Though they might just seem like a small upgrade, these are some really cool features.

It goes without saying that it can protect iPhone users from speeding tickets.

It displays the vehicle's speed in miles or kilometers, depending on the area.

Despite the fact that speed limits and speedometers are gradually making their way onto Google Maps for iOS users, the company stated that the vehicle's speed is solely for "informational use." For accurate speed information, it is recommended that you use the car's speedometer.

“Make sure to use your vehicles’s speedometer to confirm your actual driving speed,” notes Google.

In the Google Maps app for iPhone, hit your profile image, then Settings > Navigation > Driving settings, and turn on the speedometer and speed limits. When the speed limits function is activated, the speed gauge will display various colors to serve as a reminder for you to drive within the posted speed limit.
