Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra: Expected to Cost More Than Anticipated

  • 17-June-2024

With the launch of the Galaxy Watch 7 series in 2024, Samsung is getting ready to rearrange its lineup of smartwatches. The updated 2024 range should include a new Galaxy Watch Ultra and a basic Galaxy Watch 7, excluding the recently released Fan Edition edition. It is believed that US pricing and color options for these two wearables have recently surfaced.

The regular Galaxy Watch 7, which is expected to have the same design as the Galaxy Watch 6, will come in three color options: Marble Gray, Cream White, and Forest Green, according to new information obtained by 91mobiles.

As for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, the source only lists Titanium Gray as a color choice. Early renderings, however, suggest that many color options may be offered for the silicon wrist strap at the very least.

The "Titanium Gray" color scheme isn't all that it seems to be; the Ultra variant is said to have a Grade 4 titanium chassis. The label may provide more information to consumers about the construction of the smartwatch and Samsung's material selections.

Notably, compared to other Galaxy Watch models, the alleged features of the Galaxy Watch Ultra include an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and Sapphire Crystal display protection.

Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra Costs

According to this recent source, the 40mm Galaxy Watch 7 and the 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra's US prices are disclosed. There should be two sizes for the normal Watch 7, however there are reports that the Galaxy Watch Ultra might only come in a 47mm size.

The 40mm Galaxy Watch 7 is expected to retail for between $299 and $310 in the US, according to the report. The 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 retailed for $299, for comparison.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra, on the other hand, is expected to cost between $699 and $710 from Samsung, according to one rumor. If verified, this would surpass the initial pricing of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro to become the most costly Galaxy Watch ever manufactured.

Released in 2022 for $449 (Wi-Fi) to $499 (LTE), the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is, in theory, Samsung's first smartwatch with a titanium plating.

Samsung debuted the Galaxy Watch FE, its entry-level model for this year, ahead of the upcoming Unpacked event, for customers on a tighter budget. As a result, while it will be released in 2024, it won't precisely be a Watch 7 model. The $199 Fan Edition wristwatch will be available in the USA the following week. Unpacked in July is expected to reveal the other two luxurious series-7 timepieces.
