Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra Leak Teases Key Specs

  • 20-June-2024

Recent weeks have seen a lot of leaks regarding the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, which is probably not surprising given that the debut date is supposedly less than a month away. Moreover, several important specifications for these future smartwatches are listed in the most recent unofficial disclosure.

Both of these wearables will reportedly use the latest Exynos W1000 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage (for synchronized music, app data, and other files), according to tipster @negativeonehero (via Notebookcheck).

The Galaxy Watch 7 has two case sizes to choose from, 40mm and 44mm, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra has one size, 47mm, which also corresponds with previous. It is reported that the Galaxy Watch 7 would have a thickness of 9.7mm, whilst the Galaxy Watch Ultra is expected to have a somewhat thicker 12.1mm.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is purported to weigh 28.5g or 33.5g and have a battery capacity of either 300mAh or 425mAh, contingent upon the size. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is expected to weigh 61.5g and contain a 590mAh battery.

Changing up the Series

"If this is accurate – and of course we won't know until Samsung's big reveal – there won't be any differences between these watches in terms of performance; it'll all be in the device sizes and the materials used."

It is reported that the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra will come with a brighter screen than the Galaxy Watch 7 basic model with a titanium body. Though rumors indicate it will cost less than Apple's offering, it sounds similar to the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

It appears quite likely that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will be replaced this year by the unnumbered Galaxy Watch Ultra, which will likely include a rotating bezel as part of its design. The more reasonably priced Samsung Galaxy Watch FE has already been released.

According to all the signs, the next Samsung Unpacked is scheduled for July 10. During that event, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Buds 3 and 3 Pro, and the Samsung Galaxy Ring will also likely be fully shown.
