Rotary Releases A Limited Edition Chronograph Of Their 1960s Aquaplunge

  • 14-February-2024

eBay for reasonably priced timepieces from the pre-quartz mid-20th century, when the majority of mechanical wristwatches were created and priced for the general public rather than the one percent, is one of the greatest joys for aspiring watch collectors.

This kind of trawl could turn up Rotary Aquaplunge tool watches, which were produced in the 1960s in a variety of styles, such as more edgy chronographs and three-handers.

They are usually available for well under $1,000, and they will exhibit all the character that comes with more than 50 years of use.

A new Rotary RW-1895 Chronograph, which is based on the Aquaplunge design, will appeal to people who adore the style of those vintage timepieces but prefer a more refined, accurate, and dependable timepiece.

Included in a major overhaul for Rotary, the watch will rely more heavily on the company's collection of timepieces, which dates back to 1895.

Its internal tachymeter track and sixty-minute bezel make it a near-perfect replica of the original in terms of design.

Under the hood, Rotary has a hybrid movement with a mechanical chronograph and a quartz module for timekeeping.

The contemporary watch features two subdials on a matte dial, just like its original design.

There are three options available for the 38mm package: a black dial with a leather strap, a blue dial with a steel bracelet, or a black dial with a bracelet. There are just 500 of each.

In the US, American consumers can purchase directly from British company Rotary.

The RW-1895 Chronograph is priced at £299 for steel-on-steel models and £269 for leather strap models.
