Apart from everything that happened yesterday, you may now initiate Google Assistant Routines on Android devices via the Gemini mobile app.
Routines on Gemini for Android have not worked since the app's February launch: "shortcuts to start a Routine and Routines attached to alarms in the Clock app no longer work."
Now, if you say "start [routine]," Gemini's Google Assistant will launch the procedure. (Tapping to start a routine is ineffective.) "Not all starters or actions are supported when you use a Routine with Gemini," according to Google.
In addition to using Routines, Gemini Settings > Google Assistant features in Gemini > Routines (at the very bottom) is where you can check if support is available.
Interpreter mode and media service providers have been added to the list of unsupported Assistant functions ("Podcasts, news and radio stations, and third-party music providers aren't supported in Gemini currently").
