Nottingham Forest has signed former Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard on a free transfer, the promoted Premier League club said on Thursday. Lingard, a United institute graduate, finished his 22-year association with the Old Trafford club following the expiry of his agreement last month. The 29-year-old England international, who made his United debut in 2014, scored 35 goals in excess of 200 games for them. Forest didn't determine the length of his agreement however Sky Sports detailed he had signed a year-long deal. Lingard had been connected with a change to Newcastle United as well as a re-visitation of West Ham United, where he partook in an effective loan spell in the 2020-21 season, scoring nine goals in 16 matches.
