New Features For Booking Appointments Are Added To Google Calendar

  • 10-July-2024

Google declared that new options for booking appointments will be added to Google Calendar. It is currently possible to set an appointment schedule's recurrence to repeat weekly or not at all when you create it in Calendar.

More flexibility is provided by a new option that lets you create personalized weekly events for an appointment calendar. You can set the appointment schedule to occur every two weeks rather than every week, for instance.

To put it briefly, Google Calendar used to have two features called "appointment slots" and "appointment schedules," which accomplished much the same task. Google declared earlier in the year that appointment slots will be eliminated on July 18 and replaced by appointment calendars, which are preferable.

A specialized user interface is provided by Appointment Schedules to let you make and manage several appointments for the whole week. For others to schedule time with you, it enables you to create and share booking pages.

Among the many choices available are the ability to establish different times for individual days, select locations, include other individuals, designate off days, and set up email reminders. The scheduling function's standout feature allows you to manage all of your reservations from a full-screen interface that opens in a new tab and is distinct from the Calendar's primary user interface.

Google Calendar now allows bookers (and co-hosts) to invite additional users to a booked event in addition to bespoke weekly occurrences. The "Guests can invite others" permission must be enabled by the person who creates the appointment calendar in order for this feature to function.

In order to facilitate the scheduling of appointments among group members, the schedule builder has the option to include Google Groups as co-hosts throughout the scheduling process.

These capabilities will be made available to users with personal accounts as well as those in the workspace tiers of Business, Education, Enterprise, and Nonprofits in the upcoming weeks. It should be noted that individual Workspace members, Google One Premium users, and personal accounts will not be able to add Google Groups as co-hosts.

Prior iterations of Google Calendar have seen the addition of multiple features, including enhanced Microsoft Outlook syncing and full-screen task viewing.
