The Forerunner 255, 265, 955, and 965 smartwatches can now use the Garmin Public Beta Version 17.22. In comparison with the previous version, three bugs in the wearables are fixed by the new software, including one that affects the exercise list and another that could lead to device crashes.
According to Garmin, the public beta version 17.22 for the smartwatches Forerunner 255, 265, 955, and 965 is currently in the pre-rollout phase. The new software is a release candidate, which means that, if no significant bugs are found during this testing phase, an identical version of the update will soon be rolled out to all wearables, including those not enrolled in the Beta Program.
Three bug fixes for wearables not included in the previous version, v17.21, are included in beta version 17.22. The exercise list is no longer hidden while at rest, according to a note from Garmin in the change log. Additionally, bugs like adding a data field to a profile via Garmin Connect Mobile or adding stamina fields to cycling profiles have been fixed that could have resulted in the Forerunner smartwatches crashing.
The change log also includes a list of newly added features from previous releases, such as the ability to inline skate, multi-location weather, and embedded images in smart notifications.
Additionally, the 265 and 965 models have a Red Shift mode that allows you to preserve night vision by turning the display red, orange, or green. Navigating to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates will allow you to download the update. If you would like to register for the Beta Program and have a Forerunner 255, 265, 955, or 965 smartwatch, you can do so through Garmin Connect.
