MWC 2024 | Xiaomi Watch 2: New Wristwatch Launches in Europe and the UK at a Lower Initial Cost than Anticipated

  • 26-February-2024

Europe and the UK are now able to order the Xiaomi Watch 2. The Xiaomi Watch 2, one of the least expensive Wear OS smartwatches available today, boasts a big AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1 chipset, and a battery life of up to 65 hours.

At MWC 2024, Xiaomi unveiled a number of products, including the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Pad 6S Pro 12.4. Furthermore, the company unveiled the Watch 2, the only new device in the lineup. In contrast, over the past few months, China has seen the debut of the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Pad 6S Pro 12.4, and Watch S3.

The Watch 2 sports a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with an output of 466 x 466 pixels, a 495 mAh battery, and a Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1 chipset, as many leaks had indicated. Regretfully, Wear OS 3 builds, as opposed to Wear OS 4 builds, which power the majority of Wear OS smartwatches that have been available since late summer 2023, are supported by the Watch 2. Furthermore, Xiaomi has not disclosed when Wear OS 4 will be released for the Watch 2, nor has it been confirmed for the Watch 2 Pro that recently reviewed.

In addition, the Watch 2 has a 12-channel heart rate sensor and dual-band GNSS connectivity (L1+L5), all housed in a 37 g aluminum housing. The Watch 2 has 46 mm case sizes and is available in silver and black finishes. The smartwatch retails for €169.99 in the Eurozone and £149.99 in the UK at launch. On March 3, the Watch 2 will, however, cost €199.99 and £169.99, respectively.
