A helpful new feature that the Google TV app is implementing is the option to send links to movies and TV series to friends, family, and other people.
You can now share a link to movies or TV series within the Google TV app with anybody you choose thanks to a subtle update. This feature, which is currently available in both the iOS and Android apps, allows you to share an image of the content's poster with another app and send a link to another user that allows them to access a certain movie or TV show using the Google TV app.
Notably, you must have the app installed in order to use this link. If you don't, like when you click on the link on a computer, it simply takes you to the Google TV website or, if you're using an Android or iOS device, to the app store to install the Google TV app.
It's undoubtedly a useful function, but with that limitation in mind, it's a little limiting.
To be clear, you may only share the listing itself with this link; you cannot share access to the content. Although it's a convenient method to start a conversation by sharing your favorite TV series and films, users will still need to purchase or have a subscription in order to see the material. Using Google's Family collection capabilities, which are supposedly only meant to be shared with people in your home, is still the only option to share your Google TV collection.
