iQOO Watch Launches with BlueOS and Optional eSIM

  • 25-April-2024

The vivo iQOO Watch, the company's debut smartwatch, is strikingly similar to the vivo Watch 3, suggesting that iQOO did not start from scratch. In place of Google Wear OS, it even utilizes the same BlueOS platform. Unlike most watches with a proprietary OS, this watch can function without a smartphone thanks to its eSIM version. In addition, the watch has an app store where you can add new features.

The iQOO Watch is 11.3 mm thick and 46.1 mm wide (not including the biometric sensor at the bottom). Without a strap, it weighs 36g. In relation to that, there are three options for straps: rubber, woven nylon, and real leather. Naturally, the straps can be switched out to fit the occasion.

The watch features an always-on display mode and a 1.43" OLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. When you swap out the strap, the watch recognizes it and loads a new face automatically.

The top-mounted rotating crown and the bottom-mounted button are the only hardware controls present on the device. If your watch is the eSIM version, you can make calls from the watch itself using the speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calling.

Using an intriguing dual setup is the health tracking system. It tracks your heart rate and blood oxygen levels during the day using visible light. To ensure that the watch doesn't wake you up with flashing lights at night, it converts to invisible infrared. iQOO states that a deep learning algorithm and a multi-channel sensor (eight channels for heart rate and sixteen for blood oxygen) provide 97.7% accuracy in heart rate tracking.

In addition to sleep stage classification, sleep tracking features sleep time and score. Naps can also be tracked with the watch. If every member of the family receives an iQOO Watch, you can share your vitals with each other using the phone app.

There are more than 100 sports modes on the smart watch. It can assist you with workout planning, coaching during the workout, and post-exercise guidance on how to get better.

You can use it for things like public transportation since NFC is supported. Additionally, the watch can even unlock your car if it is the correct model.

Under typical operating conditions, the watch's 505mAh battery can run Bluetooth for up to 8 days; when power saving is enabled, the battery can run for up to 16 days. It has a maximum operating life of three days (or seven days with power saving) if you use it independently with its eSIM connection.

Through Vivo's online store, the iQOO Watch is currently accessible in China.
