Recently, Garmin unveiled its most reasonably priced fitness smartwatch lineup to date: the Forerunner 165 and Forerunner 165 Music. Both models, however, continue to include a number of onboard health and fitness monitoring features in addition to the brand's standard satellite tracking capabilities.
With its 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen measuring 390 x 390 pixels, always-on functionality, and strengthened glass protection, the Forerunner 165 boasts the smallest AMOLED touchscreen among its competitors. There are two buttons on the right and three on the left of a fiber-reinforced polymer case that encloses it. A sensor that measures blood oxygen saturation, pulse, heart rate, and other parameters is located on the back of the watch, just like the majority of smartwatches.
Furthermore, both of the Forerunner 165 models have matching 20mm silicone straps and are rated 5ATM for water resistance. Colorways for the two versions are Black/Slate Gray and Mist Gray/Whitestone, and the Music version is also available in Turquoise/Aqua and Berry/Lilac.
Heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep tracking, body battery, wrist-based running power and dynamics calculations, over 25 workout profiles, and many more features are available to Garmin Forerunner 165 users. On the other hand, storing songs from streaming services like Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon Music is only possible with the Music model.
As previously stated, multi-satellite positioning (GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO) is supported by both models. Given that they are smartwatches, you can anticipate that the two will have standard features like text, email, and call notifications.
Both Forerunner 165 watches, according to Garmin, have a battery life of up to 11 days in Smartwatch Mode, 20 days in Battery Saver, 19 hours in GPS-Only, 17 hours in All-Systems GNSS, 7 hours in GPS-Only with music, and 6.5 hours in All-Systems mode with music. The two also have a special charging plug that comes with them, just like other smartwatch models from the brand.
Prices for the new Forerunner 165 and Music variant in the US are US$249.99 and US$299.99, respectively, and approximately RM1,197 and RM1,437, respectively. It is still unknown whether either smartwatch will be available in Malaysia, according to Garmin.
