Introducing Google's Fitbit Ace LTE Smartwatch for Kids: Explore Features

  • 30-May-2024

For children seven years of age and up, Fitbit, a division of Google, has introduced the Ace LTE smartwatch. Parents can follow their child's position in real-time, make calls, send and receive text and voice messages, and do much more with the Fitbit Ace LTE smartwatch thanks to its built-in LTE connectivity. It can also be connected to the Fitbit Ace companion app on iOS and Android devices.

Fitbit Ace LTE: Cost and Accessibility

Pre-orders for the Fitbit Ace cost $229.95 in the US, and the device will go on general sale on June 5 in that nation. The smartwatch is anticipated to be available in a few regions outside of the US later this year, however the business has not disclosed the specifics of its availability in those markets.

However, it should be mentioned that although the US model of the Fitbit Ace LTE has built-in LTE connectivity, users must have a Fitbit Ace Pass data plan in order to use it. The monthly cost of the Fitbit Ace Pass is $9.99, or $119.99 for a yearly membership.

Fitbit Ace LTE: Features

Many kid-focused features, like interactive activities that advance in tandem with actual movement and exercise, are included with the Fitbit Ace LTE. According to a press statement from Google, the smartwatch has customizable animals known as "Eejies" that react to children's actions and encourage them to be more active. Another new activity on the wristwatch is the "noodles" ring, which advances through walks, hops, and other exercises.

According to Google, parents can follow their child's position in real time by connecting the Fitbit Ace LTE to the Fitbit Ace app on their smartphones. According to Google, only parents may view their child's location and location history, which is automatically erased after a day. Activity data also expires after 35 days. The smartwatch has no loaded third-party apps, and the only people who can add contacts for messaging and calling are the parents. Other features of the smartwatch include Tap to Pay and School Time mode, which reduces distractions during class, according to Google.

Six collector band style options—each with a unique look and user interface—are available for the Fitbit Ace LTE. According to Google, the smartwatch has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the display and is water resistant for up to 50 meters. To further increase the watch's durability, a watch bumper is included in the package.

The Fitbit Ace LTE, according to Google, has a battery life of over 16 hours and quick charging capabilities, allowing for an 11-hour battery life with a 30-minute charge.
