May 2024 saw 63,551 vehicles sold overall for Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), of which 49,151 were sold domestically and 14,400 were exported. Compared to the total sales in May 2023, this represents a volume increase of 6.63 percent. The manufacturer has admitted that 67% of all domestic sales have come from its lineup of SUVs.
Moreover, 20.1% of all domestic sales have come from rural areas of the nation. Hyundai reported 49,151 unit sales last month, compared to 48,601 units sold during the same period in 2023, representing a 1.13 percent YoY positive rise in sales locally. 2,59,669 units were registered between January and March of 2024 compared to 2,46,009 units, representing a YoY growth of 5.55%.
In May 2024, 14,400 units were shipped overall compared to 11,000 units, representing a 31% YoY rise. With a tremendous YoY volume growth of 15%, the South Korean car manufacturer exported 61,300 units between January and May 2024 compared to 53,420 units during the same period the previous year.
In May 2023, Hyundai sold 59,601 units, a YoY increase of 6.63 percent. This month, taking into account both domestic and export sales, the company sold 63,551 units. The company recorded 3,20,969 units in the first five months of this CY, up 7.2% from 2,99,429 units. 1,372 sales locations and 1,557 service locations make up Hyundai's network of operations in India.
There are Grand i10 Nios, i20, Aura, Exter, Venue, Verna, Creta, Alcazar, Tucson, and Ioniq 5 in the local product inventory. Hyundai unveiled the extensively modified Creta earlier this year, and it is currently getting ready to introduce the improved Alcazar in H2 2024. It is possible that later this year, the electric Creta may make its world premiere. It is currently in development.
