After a successful debut of the S24 range at the first Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, the company is preparing for the next one, which will feature foldable screen technology. However, a report suggests that the Galaxy Ring wearable—which is something else entirely—might have to take center stage alongside the aforementioned foldables. Additionally, it is stated that July will see the next event.
With a little more precision, the Korean news outlet ETNews states that the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for the second part of July. This is consistent with the plan from the previous year, when on July 26th, Samsung unveiled its two foldable devices. Venue information is still pending.
Regarding the Samsung Galaxy Ring itself, the report mentions that it has the standard array of health tracking features, such as an ECG and blood pressure monitor. These features correspond with a brand patent application from 2022. However, this smart ring is also said to have wireless payment and remote control features in addition to health-related ones.
The Samsung Galaxy Ring is still in its "prototype production stage," with mass production set to begin in the second quarter, according to a recent report. This is an interesting observation to make. Reportedly, the company had the smart ring in early development back when the aforementioned patent was originally found. In any case, it will take some time to determine whether the report is accurate in every way.
