Early adopters of the first-generation Google Pixel Watch are being given access to the new Fitbit Workout UI as part of the March Feature Drop. With just a quick glance, wearers can now easily obtain insightful information about their vital signs thanks to these new features.
Now, Google has brought the Fitbit Workout UI to the first-generation Pixel Watch, which was first available in the second-generation smartwatch. The March Feature Drop for the Pixel smartphone and smartwatch series is currently being released. It was announced earlier this month.
The March Feature Drop updates and modernizes the original Google Pixel wristwatch to match the latest models. The new Fitbit Workout UI is, in short, coming to the original Pixel Watch.
In the original User Interface (UI), several stats were crammed onto one face and two rows. The heart rate zones on the new user interface have a semi-circular ring, which is much more aesthetically pleasing.
Users can access key statistics in a list on the new user interface by swiping up or down. This is far more informative at a glance than the previous user interface, even though there are four stats on the first page and three on the second.
When users swipe right and left, similar to how they would with exercise controls, other metrics are now revealed in the Fitbit Workout UI. Moreover, Google redesigned the Lock, End, and Pause buttons. The buttons on the new user interface are pill-shaped instead of circular. It's now simpler to tap the controls while exercising because they're practically bigger.
With its promise of swift and accurate detection of running, walking, elliptical, spinning, outdoor bike, treadmill, or rowing, the update contains the much-needed Auto Workout Mode. Strangely, the update doesn't include the Fitbit Relax app, which allows you to practice breathing techniques. Nevertheless, Google provides Heart Zone Training and Pace Training.
Google had already unlocked the ability to obtain public transit directions in Maps on Pixel Watch via a recent Wear OS update.
Google is rolling out the Fitbit Workout UI through the Fitbit app, which is now on version 3.19. First-gen Pixel Watch owners will have to first update their Fitbit app from the Play Store.
Some users have complained that their original Pixel Watch is unable to use the new features. A complete reboot is required after the most recent update, according to some users. To better synchronize its sensors with the updated software, the smartwatch might require a full power cycle.
