Google Account sign-in is made simpler with Chrome on desktop and Android devices

Google Account sign-in will soon take the place of the "Chrome Sync" mechanism in Chrome for Android and desktop, which was first introduced on iOS last year.

You will soon be able to access saved passwords, payment information, and addresses by logging into your Google Account in Chrome on Android and desktop, just like you would with other first-party apps. Bookmarks, a reading list, and settings are also available on Android, and other data types will soon be available on desktop computers.

By activating a different opt-in feature, you can "Sync your tabs and history" to your Google Account in the meantime.

When Chrome Sync initially launched in 2009, it required "both sign-in and enabling sync" and was a two-step process. "Users increasingly expect to just sign in to get access to their stuff and sign out to keep it safe," which is reflected in this upcoming adjustment.

Chrome for desktop and Android users will "soon" get access to this "new identity model," which will eventually replace the outdated sync mechanism. Additionally, you are able to use Chrome without logging in.
