The Instinct 2, Instinct 2s, Instinct 2X, and Instinct Crossover smartwatches are now compatible with Beta Version 15.02 from Garmin. The wearable's previous software update, version 14.12, went live in December. The new software is the first in the 15.xx series.
Version 15.02 fixes a number of bugs that affect all wearables, including one that could arise when changing reps during a workout and result in the incorrect page loading. The Store & Forward feature of Garmin, which is only available when HRM straps are used, now has a more robust training load calculator. The Cross-country Ski activity and Reference Point app's location distance issues, which may have led to device crashes, have also been fixed.
The temperature icon for Instinct 2, 2s, and 2X has been updated, and the Russian keyboard's characters are now accessible. An issue with GPS-based distance tracking for the 2X and Crossover has been resolved, and a map drawing bug has been fixed specifically for the Crossover. Additionally, an issue with the torch has been fixed and the battery life estimates for the 2X are now more accurate when the flashlight is in battery-saver mode.
The update can be side-loaded by downloading the necessary software from the Garmin forum, where installation instructions are also available. Installing the new GPS firmware is necessary, and it is included in the 2X and Crossover folders. Through Garmin Connect, you can sign up to be a part of the beta program.
