On the Venu 2, Venu 2S, and Venu 2 Plus, Garmin has finally added new features. Except that it's currently limited to Garmin's Beta Program, the series is now eligible for CIQ System 7, a major update that comes with additional bug fixes and enhancements.
When it comes to software updates, the Venu 2 series of smartwatches from Garmin is usually overlooked. New features for the Venu 3 series and the Vivoactive 5 (currently available on Amazon for $299.99) have been released by the company in recent weeks, coinciding with the release of multiple significant bug fixes.
In contrast, Garmin's beta program participants' smartwatches running software version 17.04, or beta 18.05, continue to run on the Venu 2, Venu 2S, and Venu 2 Plus.
Garmin has now released a significant update for the Venu 2 series, utilizing both Software Version 17.04 and Beta 18.05. The update was initially sent to the company's beta program before a final stable release, as is customary.
The update, which is available as Beta 19.03, brings CIQ System 7 support to the Venu 2 series for the first time. Although Garmin does not go into great detail about CIQ System 7 in this forum post, it did so last December.
To sum up, "CIQ System 7 a number of enhancements, the specifics of which we discussed in more detail elsewhere." Moreover, "many bug fixes and improvements" are included in Beta 19.03. Regretfully, Garmin hasn't yet disclosed what these are.
Beta 19.03 ought to be distributed via Garmin's Connect Mobile (GCM) platform. As an alternative, you can manually start the download by going to your Venu 2 series smartwatch's main menu, then selecting Settings, System, and lastly Software Update.
