Garmin Forerunner 165 Design Renders Were Leaked

  • 15-February-2024

In order to replace the Forerunner 55, Garmin plans to release the Forerunner 165, a new entry-level smartwatch. Prior to its release in Europe, 91mobiles obtained a leak of this upcoming model.

There will be a larger display and an updated design on the Forerunner 165, which has been reported to be available in black, white, and turquoise. The design of the Forerunner 165 seems to be less bulky overall and with slightly thinner bezels than the previous model. Garmin has prioritized user-friendliness in the redesign of the "Run" button, making it easier to reach. The regular edition of the watch costs €279, while the €329 Music model has integrated media storage.

The Forerunner 165's primary features include a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a 390x390 pixel resolution. Additionally, Garmin's "Elevate V4" PPG sensor for precise heart rate monitoring and a barometric altimeter for precise elevation data are included. It is mentioned that, in comparison to its predecessor, this model's battery life might be 11 days shorter.

The 20 mm quick-release bands that the smartwatch supports fall between the Forerunner 265 and 265S in size. This makes it a flexible choice for a range of wrist sizes. The Forerunner 165 Music model has 4GB of storage, in spite of its entry-level pricing.

In related news, at CES 2024, Garmin debuted the HRM-Fit Heart Rate Monitor for Sports Bras. The HRM-Fit is compatible with sports bras from well-known brands like Adidas and Under Armour and attaches to the bottom band of the bra, unlike traditional heart rate monitors.
