Recently, Nissan unveiled the Ariya Nismo, a head-turner at the Tokyo Auto Salon, but there's a catch: it's only available in Japan. This new Ariya electric crossover from Nissan is more than just aesthetically pleasing; it also has a lot of performance enhancements.
430 horsepower is a powerful powertrain that the Ariya Nismo, which is based on the dual-motor AWD Ariya e-4ORCE, can muster. With mechanical improvements and a more daring design, this model receives a thorough makeover rather than just a facelift. Better handling is anticipated thanks to the 20-inch wheels, high-performance tires, and chassis upgrades. Furthermore, improved aerodynamics and stability at high speeds are two benefits of the car's external design, which goes beyond aesthetics.
Nissan has improved the electric drivetrain's efficiency by ten percent through redesign. The B6 model of the Ariya Nismo has a 66 kWh battery that produces 362 horsepower, while the B9 model has a 91 kWh battery that produces 430 horsepower. Expectations are high for the B9 model even though official performance numbers are not yet available, especially since its new NISMO mode improves throttle response and adds a captivating engine sound.
The Ariya Nismo will not be sold outside of Japan, though, which is a big disclaimer. Global EV enthusiasts may be disappointed by this decision, since the Ariya Nismo has a chance to compete with well-liked sporty EV crossovers like the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT and Tesla Model Y Performance.
Although it lacks driving excitement, the Ariya is a respectable electric car in its base configuration. Given the Nismo version's strong performance at the Nürburgring testing, it is possible that it filled this void. With any luck, the rest of the world will get to enjoy this gem when it is eventually released more widely, but for now it is only available in Japan.
