Developers Get Access to WatchOS 11's Third Beta from Apple

  • 09-July-2024

Two weeks after the second beta was made available, Apple has now seeded the third beta of the impending watchOS 11 update to developers for testing.

Developers must launch the Apple Watch app, navigate to the Software Update area under "General" in Settings, then toggle on the watchOS 11 Developer Beta in order to install the update. You must have an Apple ID connected to a developer account.

Upon activating beta updates, watchOS 11 can be downloaded from the same Software Update menu. An Apple Watch must be charged to 50% and be on an Apple Watch charger in order to install software.

The Vitals app, which is new to watchOS 11, compiles health data, such as heart rate and breathing rate, while you sleep to provide daily health insights and help you monitor any changes in your health. A function called Training Load is also available for tracking exercise intensity and its long-term effects on the body.

New widgets, support for Live Activities, Translate, and enhanced widget suggestion capabilities based on time and daily routine have all been added to the Smart Stack. The Check In safety feature now functions with Workouts, and the Photos watch face offers recommendations for the best photos to utilize.

Activity Rings allow you to modify your daily objectives and halt (without losing your activity streak) on days off or when you're sick. One-handed app navigation is now possible with Double Tap, and Apple Maps allows users to plan their own hiking and walking routes.
