Canadians can now shop more cheaply at the grocery store thanks to a new app.
Numerous Pennies evaluate the prices of commonplace goods at a number of different supermarkets, such as Metro, NoFrills, Costco, and Walmart. The Greater Toronto Area, Vancouver, Ottawa, and other places in Canada are among the places where users can access the platform.
After adding their address to their account, users can view the prices of products at the stores that are closest to them. When a user searches for an item, the platform displays price quotes from different brands. The item will display the nearest store offering the best deal when you click on it.
Earlier this week, Many Penny posted a chart on Reddit that listed the prices of 20 commonplace items, such as fruit, butter, and coffee, at different GTA retailers. The total for those items was $119 at Metro, $110 at Loblaws, and $141 at Metro.
There are two options available to users when creating an account. The first costs nothing every month and offers simple features like product barcode searching. The second option, which costs $3.99 a month, has more features like the ability to view past price trends.
According to the Vancouver-based business, it is not compensated for displaying particular results to users. "Unlike other bloggers, we don't receive payment through affiliate links and have opted to remain independent of grocery chains."
