A recent study found that there are issues with the heart rate accuracy of the Coros Pace 3 smartwatch

In recent research, the5krunner compared the Coros Pace 3 smartwatch to a number of wearables from Garmin, Apple, and Polar. The Coros device performed worse than competing products in a variety of exercises, according to the study that examined its performance.

A recent study examined the accuracy of the heart rate sensor in the Coros Pace 3 wristwatch. In order to compare the performance of the Coros wearable against an Apple Watch, the Garmin HRM-Pro Plus, and the Polar Verity Sense chest straps, The5krunner conducted the experiment.

Interval training, riding, easy and steady-state runs, and other exercises were all used in the study to test the wearables. A comparison of the data from the two runs with the measurements from the Apple, Garmin, and Polar devices reveals multiple differences in readings.

Interval training demonstrates the inaccuracy as well; it is especially evident during or after higher-intensity exercise when the heart rate rapidly increases or decreases. With only one notable outlier, the shorter bike ride produced data that was most similar to the comparison devices; however, the longer ride revealed numerous differences.

The small size of the data set means that, as the5krunner points out, these analysis should be interpreted with caution. When the Coros Pace 3's GPS accuracy was tested, it performed well in comparison to the other devices.

In August, the Pace 3, a GPS smartwatch featuring a 1.2-inch (~30 mm) transflective LCD, was released. With its sensors to track biometrics like heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and sleep quality, the new model boasts a battery life of up to 24 days. A barometer, a digital compass, and a thermometer are among the additional features. The Coros Pace 3 smartwatch retails for $229.00.
