A Large AMOLED Display and a Long Battery Life, Honor Releases a New, Affordable Smartwatch

  • 17-February-2024

Honor has verified all of the information and the starting price for its newest smartwatch. The smartwatch has a 1.95-inch AMOLED display, a 300 mAh battery, and access to five satellite systems for route tracking, among other functions.

Honor unveiled their new smartwatch earlier this week, and now they have confirmed all the important details. For the record, Honor uses the terms "Choice Watch" and "Choice Haylou Watch" interchangeably when referring to the smartwatch in promotional materials.

As anticipated, the Choice Watch has a 1.95-inch display housed in a housing measuring 49.7 x 39.9 x 10.2 mm. Despite being a less expensive option, Honor used an AMOLED panel for the smartwatch's display, just like the more costly Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro. Its native resolution of 502 x 410 pixels also allows the large display to output at 550 nits with a pixel density of 332 PPI.

Furthermore, it has been reported that the Choice Watch can run on its 300 mAh battery for up to 12 days, most likely due to its proprietary lightweight operating system. In addition, five satellite systems—including GPS and GLONASS—can be accessed by the smartwatch for route tracking. Honor also states that the Choice Watch has 24/7 heart rate, SpO2, and stress monitoring capabilities in addition to being 5 ATM water resistant.

On February 24th, the Choice Watch (~$72) will be available in India for INR 5,999. On the other hand, the smartwatch will normally cost INR 6,499 (~$78), though it's unclear when this price increase will happen. Honor has not yet verified that it is available everywhere. However, the Choice Watch is now listed on the company's Malaysian website, suggesting that it may soon be made available in additional markets.
